After undergoing extensive reconstruction following the impact of earthquakes, the area has been entirely rejuvenated. This includes the Ita Thao Pier Square, the newly constructed octagonal pavilion, and the boat-inspired Visitor Center. In recent years, it has evolved into a significant venue for events at Sun Moon Lake and is also the home of the Thao tribe.
